How AI Supports Exploratory AML Search
Checklynx uses AI in a narrow part of the product: exploratory search in the dashboard search tab. The AI feature helps explain returned search results so users can understand why a result may be relevant and which visible source details deserve attention.
Checklynx does not use AI for assessment, matching, summaries, case review, customer ongoing monitoring, transaction screening, or other compliance workflows. Those workflows rely on structured data, configurable matching, source-backed results, audit trails, and human review.
What the AI Explanation Does
In exploratory search, the AI explanation can help users:
- understand the visible context around a returned result;
- identify which names, identifiers, roles, or source details may explain why the result appeared;
- review the result more efficiently before applying their own compliance judgment.
The AI explanation is not a decision, match score, risk assessment, recommendation, or case review output.
What Remains Human-Led
Compliance teams remain responsible for reviewing search results, applying internal policies, and deciding whether a result is relevant. Checklynx provides source-backed screening information and workflow tools, but AI does not decide whether a person, company, wallet, transaction, case, or customer is a match or a risk.
Where AI Is Not Used
Checklynx does not use AI for:
- sanctions or PEP matching;
- adverse media assessment;
- case review or case decisions;
- customer ongoing monitoring;
- transaction screening;
- audit trail summaries;
- compliance recommendations.
This keeps AI limited to explanatory support in exploratory search while preserving deterministic, auditable workflows for core AML operations.
